I am really in a dilemma now. Rong Bing just found out yesterday that he got into both NRP and SRP (it's kind of crazy for him to sign up for both programmes). Anyway, he can only go for one of them and hence, he ask me if I want to take his position in NRP as he want to join the more prestigious SRP.
So, should I join NRP or not? I know there are many poeple out there dying to get into NRP but I really don't know whether I should join this. On one hand, NRP is a enriching programme which means that I will be learning a lot of things not taught in school. Also, my testimonial will look nicer too and it means that it is easier more me to get into a first-class university. However, joining NRP also means that I will be working with a complete stranger (a girl from ACJC if I'm not wrong). Also, as Rong Bing and his group mate had already started on the project, it means that I will have to continue his research on a topic that is completely foreign to me (some titanium oxide covered in photochemicals used for solar panels) and that means that I will have a lot of catching up to do. I will have to travel to NTU (which is in Boon Lay) every now and then too.
Sigh, this is really a hard choice. I remember last year when I too was one of them trying to get into NRP but failed at the interview stage. Should I give up this once-in-a-life-time chance or take this chance without knowing head or tail about it?
