BB WON INTERHOUSE CHAMPIONSHIP (although it was a tied between BB and BW)!! Haha! Who were the ones who said that no other house can possibly catch up with BW just one month ago, when the difference between the houses was still 22 points.
BB has indeed come a long way to winning the interhouse championship. I still remember the days when Buckley was always the "top 5" every year and how people laugh at Buckley. I was also one of them who believed that Buckley is a gone-case and there is no way for us to save it. But coming to RJC, I found that BB is a completely different thing. The most interesting metamorphosis must be that BB is the champion house for 2 years running already. Also, the girls from Buckle are pretty strong and so are the people from non-Raffles schools.
However, BB did not have a fantasic start. After getting owned in orientation games, everyone was jeering and saying that the negativity of Buckley guys are too strong and it is acting like a blackhole, sucking everything into its deep abyss.
But we soon proved them wrong. After owning some intellectual competitions such as Interhouse Chess Competition (which I participated in) and getting 2nd for pictionary, we soon became 2nd overall, losing only to BW, which has a gigantic lead. By July, BW had 88 points while BB only had 66 points. It was rumoured that it is impossible to catch up with BW already. However, BB owned rock-climbing, tennis, floorball etc. and completed this Herculean feat of catching up with BW. So 3 cheers for BB.
Ok. Back to the main stuff. Wed and thurs was class chalet. I went lanning before class chalet with Lingzhang's class again. However, there were some more crashers this time like Rong Bing, Jordan and Hyrum. We played CS at first and surprising, I got top score for CS having 38 kills (half of which is I ksed Wentao who was my meat shield) . After that, more people arrived and as there were 12 of us, we could only play two 3v3 dota games. Guo Nian, Kennedy, Rong Bing, Jordan, Hyrum and I was playing one match while the rest were playing another. The pattern to the dota game was that whichever team has Rong Bing will get completely owned. This shows Rong Bing's finesse in dota.
Class chalet was fun, although the space was a bit small. Played loads of cards and some FIFA 07, which involved me creating a new manager and using a Norwegian team to playing in the Norwegian league.
Rong Bing treated us to dinner on Wed. I was too lavish for me, and the bill was outrageously huge. I nearly fainted looking at the bill, and so must be Rong Bing, cause I saw his face turning pale when he looked at it. Dinner comprised of a chilli crab, and black pepper crab, cereal prawn some clam etc. It somehow reminded me of an inhouse dota game that I played with 4A, when my team comprised of chilli crab, blackpepper crab, steamed crab, holy crab and of course me, firecrab.
After dinner was pooling. It was a battle of sexes when the girls decided to take on the guys. Lufei showed off her rather skillful way of playing pool by jumping the cue ball every single hit. I really amazed me. However, I was not sufficient to save the girls from a defeat. By midnight, we returned to the chalet and they started watching "The Appartment", which was a really lame ghost movie. I went downstairs and played some Scrabble, which involved rather weird words such as "Frogo", who was a brother of Frodo from LotR and LV, acronym from Louis Vuitton and etc.
Thurs was rather wasted. Reached back home at around 1.30 pm and fell asleep upon touching the bed. Woke up at 7p.m and watched a bit of NDP. Then, I watched "Troy" which was rather interesting. The way that Achilles fight is very cool. But I remember vaguely that Achilles was supposed to be gay and loved his cousin, Patroclus, which caused him to be so angry that he killed Hector. In fact, Homer's title for this part of the poem was called "The Wrath of Achilles". But on the whole, it was a brilliant movie and the wooden horse was simply magnificent, although Priam seemed rather retarded.
It is National Day, the day to celebrate the birth of a nation. But all I hear today and yesterday is a funeral march, which is played currently downstairs. How ironical.
